Tutorial

Understand the core loop before you enter the city.

Public Tutorial

War of Saints is a persistent city world where every action can create consequences for someone else

This is not a click-and-forget crime game. You make money, build a name, create enemies, leave evidence, recover from injuries, survive investigations, and react to other players doing the same.

Core Gameplay Loop

The moment-to-moment loop is simple, but the fallout is where the game lives

Most sessions revolve around choosing what kind of pressure you want to create, then adapting when the city answers back.

  1. Act

Work, train, investigate, treat injuries, publish stories, run crimes, or build a business foothold.

  2. Create Pressure

Your choices can create cash flow, evidence, injuries, public attention, rival interest, and city-wide reactions.

  3. React

Bank money, recover, defend yourself, change routines, build allies, or push harder while the world responds.

  4. Grow

Promotions, reputation, better timing, and smarter risk management open stronger paths over time.

Your First 10 Minutes

Start stable before you start loud

  1. Register and choose a city and starter career that fit how safely or aggressively you want to learn.
  2. Check your dashboard, read your notifications, and note which players are online in your city.
  3. Use safe actions first such as earns, early training, or routine career progress to build cash and XP.
  4. Bank cash instead of carrying too much while you learn how exposed the city feels.
  5. Only test bigger risks once you understand what can happen back to you.

New Player Rule

Treat your first character like a real person in a dangerous city

Pick a city and career deliberately. Watch who is online. Read what the interface is telling you. Learn how quickly money disappears when you carry it, and how quickly trouble grows when your actions spill into the wider world.

Best early habit: earn, bank, read, and only escalate once you understand the city rhythm.

Ways To Play

Four loops every new player should understand

Safe And Career Loop

Build cash, XP, and stability first

Starter careers, routine earns, and low-chaos progression help you learn the map, timing, and economy without creating immediate criminal heat.

What this means for you
  • Career XP leads to promotions and stronger legal earning paths.
  • Banked money is usually safer than cash on hand.
  • Strength can matter for physical altercations and parkour, while Intelligence can help with case success and safer route planning, so balanced training matters.
  • Night school is a strong early way to train Intelligence, but its questions get harder as your Intelligence rises, so smart progression still needs real attention.

Criminal Loop

Fast money comes with real exposure

Pickpocketing and other crimes can pay quickly, but they are meant to generate victims, evidence, retaliation, public fallout, and prison risk if police pressure keeps building.

What this means for you
  • A successful crime can still create long-term trouble.
  • Victims and witnesses can trigger law pressure.
  • If an investigation turns into an arrest and conviction, prison can interrupt your momentum and punish reckless criminal play.
  • Bad timing can cost cash, freedom, health, or reputation.

Police And Justice Loop

Investigations are part of the world, not flavour text

Evidence can feed investigations, arrests, court cases, legal defence, and prison outcomes. Police and legal roles turn criminal activity into lasting consequences.

What this means for you
  • Crimes are stronger when you understand what investigators can build from them.
  • Court pressure makes reputation and legal survival matter.
  • Prison and law heat are part of the intended gameplay loop.

Business And Society Loop

The city is shaped by more than crime

Doctors, journalists, businesses, politics, and public reputation all affect who thrives. Some of the best stories come from reacting to what others caused.

What this means for you
  • Doctors make injury and violence matter.
  • Journalists turn scandals and public truth into pressure.
  • Businesses and civic systems create ownership fights, leverage, and influence.

Warnings

Four ways new players get punished fast

Carried Cash
If losing it would hurt, bank it. Visible cash exposure can make you worth targeting.
Crime Evidence
A quick crime is not isolated. Evidence can outlive the moment and strengthen later police action.
Injury Risk
Bad violence or reckless play can send you into medical recovery and slow your momentum.
Reputation
How the city sees you matters. Public stories, bad karma, and visible behaviour can change how others treat you.

Glossary

Quick terms worth knowing

Earnings
Low-risk actions used to build early money and career XP.
Career XP
Progress toward promotions and stronger legal income.
Evidence
Criminal traces that can support investigations and arrests.
Karma
A public morality signal shaped by how your actions lean.
